June 2025 marked the inaugural year of the Battle of the Flags 5v5 Flag Football Tournament, hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club and Arlington High School.

Returning for the second consecutive year at the same locations from June 19-21, the tournament featured more than 580 kids spanning nearly 60 teams, bringing in a total attendance of approximately 2,000 to the beautiful landscape of north Snohomish County. Divisions included co-ed ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 and all-girls ages 9-11 and 12-14.

With flag football officially sanctioned as a high school sport for girls early this year and Everett serving as the host site of the 2026 Seahawks NFL FLAG Regional Tournament, it’s no doubt that flag football is here to stay for a long time as an exciting summer activity but also a competitive regional tournament with national berths at stake.
