Event Recap: 3 local teams win championships at 2026 Seahawks NFL FLAG Regional Tournament
July 27, 2026

The SnoHo Hustlers 8U, Mill Creek Footballers 10U and Mill Creek Cougars 12U recreation teams each won their respective divisions at the 2026 Seahawks NFL FLAG Regional Tournament at Kasch Park on June 6, qualifying them for the third annual NFL FLAG Championships Presented by Toyota, which were held at the Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, this past weekend.

In December 2025, through collaboration between RCX Sports and the Snohomish County Sports Commission, Everett was awarded as the host site of the 2026 regional tournament, which brought in approximately 50 flag football teams from across the Western United States. Divisions included coed (8U-14U), girls (10U-high school) and recreation (8U-12U). According to the tournament’s website, NFL FLAG defines a recreation team as a “Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, JCC (Jewish Community Center), PAL (Police Athletic League) or a Park and Recreation NFL FLAG Program.” SnoHo Hustlers, Mill Creek Footballers and Mill Creek Cougars practiced at Archbishop Murphy High School and played their seasons as part of the Snohomish County YMCA Spring Flag Football league earlier this spring.

Throughout the year, RCX partnered with all 32 NFL franchises to organize NFL FLAG Regional Tournaments, and those championship teams advanced to the NFL Flag Championships, which was a weekend-long, televised event on ESPN and Disney+. More than 350 girls and boys teams participated, which also included international groups from Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, China, Australia, New Zealand, Panama and Puerto Rico.

The Los Angeles Seahawks, a team that competed in Everett, posted a 15-14 overtime victory over the Austin Texans to win the Girls High School title, and the Ocala Bucs topped the New York City Ravens 33-21 to claim the Boys 14U title. Mexico won the International 15U Girls title, and Canada secured the International 15U Coed title.
