Run, jump, flip. It’s the core mission of Northwest Aerials (NWA), a local gymnastics organization, that provides year-round classes and camps for everyone, ages 1-18, interested in exploring an activity that combines flexibility, endurance, balance and coordination.
From April 16-19, NWA hosted its annual Region 2 XCEL Regional Championships inside the Walt Price Fitness Center at Everett Community College. The four-day event welcomed 1,050 gymnasts, 300 coaches and staff, 106 teams and more than 3,000 spectators, spanning from Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, Hawaii and all parts of Washington state.
The regionals session included multiple divisions, including bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and sapphire, and gymnasts were divided into child, youth, junior and senior categories where they performed in vault, uneven bars, pommel horse and floor routines.
