On Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8-9, the Snohomish County Sports Commission attended 2025 Quadballfest: Seattle, hosted by US Quadball at the Meadowdale Athletic Complex in Lynnwood.
This was a new sports event in the area, and it combined hand-eye coordination, endurance, speed, strength and strategy. Confusing at first? Yes. But a good way to describe the sport was a cross between handball and dodgeball with the element of running with a stick in-between your legs.
The purpose of Quadballfest was to bring together the Quadball community and learn skills through on- and off-pitch workshops and challenges while also participating in small-sided Quadballfest Fantasy games. Plus, the group explored Snohomish County, ending the days at Dave & Buster’s and the Escapology Escape Rooms.
Highlights from Saturday included workshops such as giving and receiving contact, ball carrying, defensive formations and how to attack them, refereeing, seeking/flag running, recruiting, directing a tournament, branding a team and coaching 101 while Sunday featured a US National Team Open Training Camp tryout and skills competitions such as best shooter, dunk competition, beating accuracy, beating dual and seekers vs. flag runners.
