Event Recap: 2026 Seattle Spartan North American Championship Trifecta Weekend fills Monroe for endurance-packed weekend
September 29, 2026

Spartan races — they mean much more than going for a jog on a park trail or lifting weights in the gym.

For some, Spartan races are about collecting hardware, maintaining a global ranking and stepping onto the podium at various courses stationed around the world. For others, Spartan races are personal objectives of completing physically demanding obstacles, improving on past performances, crossing the finish line with a family member or friend or committing to oneself to show up on race day and compete to the best of their ability after circling the date on the calendar.

Everyone registers for a Spartan race for a specific reason, and that’s why the Snohomish County Sports Commission was proud to be a co-host partner of the 2026 Seattle Spartan North American Championship Trifecta Weekend, held at Meadow Wood Equestrian Center in Monroe from Sept. 19-20. The annual event welcomed thousands of individuals from across Washington state, the United States and the world to the lush green fields and forest trails along the Snohomish River.

The Trifecta Weekend featured the Sprint 5K (20 obstacles), Super 10K (25 obstacles) and Beast 21K (30 obstacles) races along with a Kids race (1-3KM + obstacles), providing two days of opportunity, fun and adventure. The Beast distance tallied more than 1,500 participants, the Super nearly 1,700, the Saturday Sprint 1,475 and the Sunday Sprint more than 1,050. These numbers also take into consideration the individuals who competed in multiple categories during the weekend, as part of the journey toward receiving three Trifecta hex coins, which after conquering the Sprint, Super and Beast distances in one calendar year, connect together to form the ultimate Trifecta award that attaches to the base Trifecta medal.

Some of the obstacles present during the Seattle North American Championship Trifecta Weekend included Hurdles, Log Carry, Monkey Bars, Atlas Carry, Stairway to Sparta, Chain Carry, Twister, Plate Drag, Olympus, Bender, Sandbag Carry, Barbed Wire Crawl, Rolling Mud, Dunk Wall, Slip Wall, Multi-Rig, Bucket Carry, Armer, Hercules Hoist, Tyrolean Traverse, Spear Throw, Rope Climb and A-Frame Cargo.
