Multi-Sport Coach

A pioneer in women’s athletics and was an outstanding athlete at Cascade High, Everett Community College and Eastern Washing State College. Also competed for many years after college in fast-pitch and slow-pitch and was nationally recognized.

Highlights of her coaching career as a teacher and coach or 30 years at Darrington Middle/High School include:
• Coached middle/high school tennis, volleyball, girls basketball, track & field, softball (continues to coach softball) and boy’s baseball. Coached boy’s baseball at Darrington High for 20 years. Her 1981 team was Class ‘B’ State Champions. She was League Coach of the Year in baseball – 3 times
• League Coach of the Year in volleyball – 2 times

Also, honored as Herald Woman of the Year in Sports in 1977, recognized as 1997 Snohomish County Woman of Year in Sports, winner of Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s (WIAA) Elmer Clarkson Award in 2003, and inducted into the Everett Community Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
