Geoff Reece, a football standout from Everett, Washington, embarked on a journey from Cascade High School to gridiron glory at Washington State University. Initially a walk-on, Reece swiftly rose to prominence over a five-year span under coach Jim Sweeney. He started for the first time as a sophomore in 1972 and never looked back. Reece helped the Cougars to a 7-3 record in his sophomore year. He earned All-Conference honors his junior and senior seasons and clinched All-American honors as well in his senior year. Reece played in the Blue-Gray Game, East-West Shrine Game, and the Senior Bowl.
In 1975, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the third-round, with the 61st pick of the NFL draft. His rookie season was thwarted by a knee injury. Nonetheless, Reece made his mark over three seasons in the NFL, he spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Baltimore Colts.
Post-retirement, his enduring impact earned him induction into the Washington State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Solidifying his legacy in their football history as one of the best players and walk-ons of all time.
