1977 Mountlake Terrace High School
Basketball team
At the time, the 1977 Mountlake Terrace High School boys basketball team was considered one of the top 5 best teams in state basketball history, and is still considered the best team ever in Snohomish County. The team beat perennial state power, Richland, in the championship game 67-54. They lost only one game while winning 25. Merle Blevins coached at Mountlake Terrace for 16 years and guided this team … “to play the game the right way”. Four of the starters played at 4-year colleges, including two at Division 1 schools and two professionally in Europe.
