On Wednesday, June 11, the Snohomish County Sports Commission attended the Engage Everett event at Angel Of The Winds Arena inside a lively and packed Everett Silvertips locker room.

June 11 marked One Year Out from the first match of FIFA World Cup 2026, which takes place at the famed Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, former Seattle Sounders centerback and current Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 ambassador, along with other community leaders, celebrated the occasion and spoke on the importance of the global event being played in Washington’s backyard.
