Run, jump, flip. It’s the core mission of Northwest Aerials (NWA), a local gymnastics organization that provides year-round classes and camps for everyone, ages 1-18, interested in exploring an activity that combines balance, flexibility, endurance and coordination.
From April 16-19, NWA hosted its annual Region 2 XCEL Regional Championships inside the Walt Price Fitness Center at Everett Community College. The four-day event welcomed more than 1,000 gymnasts, 300 coaches and staff, 100 teams and 3,000 spectators, all spanning from Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, Hawaii and parts of Washington state.
The regionals session included multiple divisions, including bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and sapphire, and gymnasts were divided into child, youth, junior and senior categories where they performed in vault, uneven bars, pommel horse and floor routines.
