“Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!”

Coach Patches O’Houlihan coined that 5 D’s of Dodgeball phrase more than 20 years ago in the movie, “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,” but the words still held true at the 2026 Everett Slam Dodgeball tournament, hosted by nonprofit organization Dodgeball Seattle, inside the Walt Price Student Fitness Center at Everett Community College on Sunday, May 24.

There were 20 teams (eight players per team) that participated, tallying an overall attendance of 200 including spectators, all traveling from Euguene and Portland, Oregon, Seattle and Tacoma, Washington and Surrey, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The tournament format included five round-robin matches of 24 minutes before progressing to the single-elimination knockout bracket.
