On Saturday, Aug. 16, the Snohomish County Sports Commission attended the 2025 RaeQuan Battle Youth Basketball Clinic at the Tulalip Youth Center. The camp was open to children from kindergarten to 12th grade, and Battle returned to his hometown to teach campers the fundamentals of a sport that brought him to the collegiate and professional leagues.
Battle starred at Marysville Pilchuck High School from 2015-19. He was named The Everett Herald’s All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year in 2019 and helped the Tomahawks to a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Hardwood Classic, the team’s highest state finish and first trophy since 1989. Upon graduating, the 6-foot-5 guard was ranked No. 78 in the nation, and he’d set the Tomahawks’ single-game scoring record with 43 points and the team’s career-scoring record with 1,667 points. He played two seasons each at the University of Washington and Montana State before making the trip east to West Virginia University. In September 2024, Battle signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Charlotte Hornets where he played for the team’s G-League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. In July 2025, he was traded to the Boston Celtics’ affiliate team, the Maine Celtics.
