On Sunday, July 13, the Snohomish County Sports Commission attended the 2025 Everett Performance Omnium. The event featured two separate courses this year, Grand Avenue and Riverside Neighborhood, which provided good turns and different scenery for the racers.
According to the EPO website, “There are two different criterium courses this year. A criterium is a short, technical bike race where racers routinely exceed 25 miles per hour – and the Elite fields will be reaching 30 MPH or more at times! Riding safely and in close quarters with a group of bikes that are going fast requires skill and stamina. Criteriums (also known as “Crits”) have corners, and cornering is critical to a racer’s success. The ability to efficiently get around the turns and hold a line directly impacts how much effort they’ll have to put out to stay with the pack. Both courses have some elevation change, and any hill makes for a dynamic feature throughout the race.”
Race divisions were divided between men and women by skill level (1-5, with 1 being the professional level).
