On Aug. 30, RAVE Foundation, Seattle Sounders, Snohomish Sports Dome representatives and community partners hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Snohomish Community Sports & Event Complex (SS2), celebrating a new destination for sports, recreation, entertainment and community connection in Snohomish County.

The first phase of development included forming two grass fields, a multi-use field (65×105) and one soccer pitch (75×120), both dedicated for tournaments, team practices and open community play. SS2 also features the Rave Sports Court, a multi-sport zone for various sports and freestyle fun.

Future expansion plans are also in the books with four pickleball courts, locker rooms, event space, dog park, playground and other facility additions being designed to meet the objective of elevating community engagement and economic opportunity in the city and county.

“Every community has places that bring people together. They become the backdrop for childhood memories, friendships, celebrations and traditions that last a lifetime. We believe SS2 can become one of those places for Snohomish County,” said SS2 co-owner and Snohomish Sports Dome owner Jamie French-Bialek. “This project is about more than fields, buildings and amenities. It’s about creating a welcoming place where kids can play, families can spend time together, local businesses can support their community and people of all ages can gather year-round.

“With the SS2 Community Sports and Event Complex, we are reimagining what’s possible for public sports, wellness and community spaces in Snohomish County,” she said. “Rooted in community values, environmental stewardship and a commitment to long-term impact, this next-generation complex will serve as a gathering place for generations, a place where children play, neighbors connect and champions grow.”
