On Sunday, Sept. 14, the Snohomish County Sports Commission attended the 2025 USA Artistic (USAAS) Swimming Rising Star Camp, held at the Snohomish Aquatic Center. The USAAS Rising Star Camps provide athletes ages 10+ not only time to enhance their skills under the guidance of Olympic, national team, collegiate and high-level coaches, but it’s also an opportunity for some to be selected to the All Star Camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado in November.
Anna Yesipova, an assistant coach for the USA Youth National Team, along with Olympians Anita Alvarez and Keana Hunter, led the two-day camp, which was also the fourth of six stops for the Rising Star Camps held across the country from August through September.
Water sessions focused on figures, elements, skills & drills and routines, land sessions focused on flexibility, extension and strength, classroom sessions focused on motivation and goal setting, and there was an inspirational Q&A session led by the Olympians.
