Taras is from Arlington, Washington. He’s an Arlington High School, Everett Community College and Western Washington University alumnus. Prior to the Commission, Taras was an intern and news reporter at the Lynden Tribune before coming back to the area to be a sports reporter at The Everett Daily Herald. He played on the tennis and soccer teams at Arlington High School and continued playing sports in college — soccer for the Everett CC Trojans and club tennis at WWU. When Taras is not in the office, he stays active on the pitch refereeing soccer, golfing at the many courses in the area and working hard to achieve a 300 game at the bowling alleys.
