“Happy Opening Day!”
It’s a common saying heard at the ballpark on the first day of each new baseball season. With the smell of hot dogs and burgers on the grill filling the air, paired with an ice-cold beverage and a bag of CRACKER JACKs®, the baseball atmosphere resonates with every fan, everyone from die-hard to casual, and the young to the young at heart.
From April 7-12, the Everett AquaSox hosted its first set of home games of the 2026 season, winning four of the six matchups against the Tri-City Dust Devils. More than 7,500 spectators filled the stands at Everett Memorial Stadium throughout the week to cheer on the Frogs, which recently celebrated the 2025 Northwest League title, the team’s first since 2010. Also on the first day, 9-year-old Harper from Make-A-Wish® Alaska & Washington ran the bases to kickoff the opening ceremonies.
The AquaSox are the High-A affiliate program of the Seattle Mariners, which in comparison, is above the Inland Empire 66ers (Single-A) and below the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A) and Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A). With the Frogs claiming the league championship last season, all of Seattle’s Triple-A, Double-A, High-A and Single-A affiliate teams now have won at least one league title.
