The Snohomish County Sports Commission is honored to be a winner of the SportsEvents Magazine 2026 Readers’ Choice Award as an All-Star Destination Partner. The organization also won a second award as Landyn Olson, sports development coordinator, received the SportsEvents Magazine 2026 Readers’ Choice Award for the Rising Star in Sports Event Planning. Olson is dedicated and passionate about making Snohomish County a premier sports destination.
“His willingness to create a friendship with the sports event organizer rather than ‘just’ learning about the tournament is ‘second nature’ for him,” says Tammy Dunn, executive director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission.
Landyn has been with the Commission for almost two years. He’s also involved with his high school alma mater, Marysville Getchell High School, as a wide receiver coach.
“It’s also an honor to be recognized as one of the top All-Star Destination Partners,” states Dunn. “The sports team dedication in creating memories for the athletes and spectators and streamline event services for the event organizers is what we enjoy the most.”
SportsEvents Magazine is excited to reveal the winners of its 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards. With 10 categories and 30 winners, the awards recognize planners, venues, events and partnerships that exemplify outstanding organization, creativity and community impact.
“It’s a pleasure and honor for us to present these awards and celebrate the names on this list,” says Bob Sexton, editor of SportsEvents Magazine. “All the individuals, venues and events that won are making a positive impact on the sports event and sports tourism industries and truly deserve this recognition.”
Nominations for the award categories opened in early September 2025 and voting began on the magazine’s website in mid-November, running until the end of the year. Overall, the awards program received nearly 48,000 votes across 10 categories, with the All-Star Indoor Venue category being the most popular.
The full list of winners is provided in more detail in the magazine’s feature story here.
